Summer in the City

Coming up next, the long-awaited communal living entry!

But patience, readers, we preface that post with a pictorial journey of our brief stay in Vancouver and Kamloops, BC.

The following sculpture, A-maze-ing Laughter, is located at the bottom of Davie St. It was created by a contemporary Chinese artist from patinated bronze and depicts his own laughing face. It made us giggle to walk around it. More info about it here.

We found the coolest house in Vancouver!

Many thanks to Sherry, our Vancouver host, and to Fraser and Venus for our day out at Lighthouse Park.

Before we left Vancouver, we appraised all the advice and encouragement we had received about which way to get to Kamloops: Fraser Canyon, or the Coquihalla? We took a deep breath, and decided to attempt the Coke. And it turns out, it was no sweat. We even hit a new land speed record (103km/h, woohoo!) on the way down!

The uphill slog threatened to unhinge Steff mentally - or was it all of that sugar?

We arrived safely and much earlier than predicted. We spent a week with our Vancouver Island Musicfest friends Mandy and Marni. We explored Kamloops together, had many laughs, and were sad to say goodbye.

Next up - we WWOOF again!
